Match Report
Radley College Boys-U16B vs  Eton College
On: Saturday, 29 Feb 2020
Venue: Away

Travelling to Eton for the return fixture following an absorbing encounter prior to half term found the team in confident mood despite the loss of Archie Crosthwaite Eyre to a season ending concussion, picked up during the week. Both sides started the game strongly but it was again Eton’s ability in front of goal that gave them control of the match and a comfortable 2 v 0 scoreline at half time. Following the break Radley showed a confidence and determination that had been lacking earlier in season, it was now Eton's turn to play on the back foot. A well taken goal from the Captain Tom Rawlinson heightened the mood and it took a series of good saves from a now busy goalkeeper to keep Eton in front. Perhaps ironically, given the pressure and effort involved, it took a deflected own goal to finally break down Eton's well organised defence bringing Radley level. Not to be denied and with one final push Eton forced a short corner, a firm, accurate injection being met by a crisp strike that found the bottom corner of the net, perhaps highlighting the difference between the two sides. Congratulations to Eton on showing why they remain unbeaten but credit to Radley for their part in two excellent games.
