Match Report
Radley College 4th XI vs  Abingdon School
On: Saturday, 14 Mar 2020
Venue: Away

After a high proportion of away games this season it was pleasing to have so close - the derby against Abingdon School at Tilsley Park. The boys played well in the first half but only managed to create chances on the break, rather than develop any sustained pressure. This was rectified after half time but still, despite a handful of promising periods in their 23, we seemed no closer to a goal; shots were either wide or powerless and did very little to test the keeper. Meanwhile whilst Abingdon played well in the middle of the pitch our defence snuffed out their attacks with ease. It was all looking rather like it would peter out it a disappointing final match of the season, when a breakaway attack fell eventually to McGee who slotted the goal past the outstretched keeper. Two minutes of frantic defending protected this lead and Radley emerged victorious. A balanced sheet at the end of the season left us placed 3 out of 6 in our league.
