Match Report
Radley College Boys-U18A vs  Bradfield College
On: Saturday, 14 May 2022
Venue: Away

The weather was set fair for our visit to Bradfield and the Pit looked a picture. It was no surprise that Bradfield decided to bat first on winning the toss And they would have been confident of posting a big total given their performances to date. What happened next provided fantastic entertainment for those there in person. The boys bowled and caught exceptionally well and reduced a talented batting lineup to 102 all out. Some seasons pass without the 1st XI taking more than a couple of slip catches so for Tucker to snaffle 4 in one game demands comment. In addition, George OC produced an outstanding opening spell. He bowled very few bad balls and challenged the outside edge and the top of off stump regularly. He finished with figures of 6/18 and was ably backed up by the rest of the bowling unit. Low targets can come with added pressure but a calm opening partnership of 50 settled nerves and a maiden half century from Cotterell got us to within one run of victory. We will forgive him one rash shot and an 8 wicket win was a just result reward for a very impressive team performance.
