This was a keenly contested match between two good U16A sides which went down to the wire. The lead exchanged hands numerous times during the game and either side could have won the match but Radley just edged it with 20-19 win courtesy of a pressure penalty kick from Jack Renders out on the right hand side in the last five minutes which bisected the posts. Two of the three Radley tries came from Muru Sundavadra on the right wing, one from an early cross field kick from Henry Czekalowski off a penalty with Max Godbold gathering before offloading to Muru. The second try being a rather opportunistic try from a Sherborne handling mistake in the back field. The third try was scored by Jack Renders in the left hand corner after some good carries into the 22 by the forwards.
Not the prettiest of wins but the team has learnt much from their opening encounter of the season and they demonstrated plenty of grit and heart to win the match by the narrowest of margins. On to Bedford on Thursday.
