Radley came fast out of the blocks and scored first. It was another sniping try by Conrad Morley from the base of the scrum. Totally dominant, and pushing Tonbridge back metres, in the scrum, it came as a blow when one of the Tonbridge players went off and the scrums became uncontested. Tonbridge were a bigger side in the pack and developed an attritional plan of running their heaviest forwards through the midfield. Two tries were the result, but Radley dragged themselves back into the game with Hector Wade making hard yards to score in the middle. Concussion robbed us of some of our most dangerous players, but the full squad made a contribution and stepped up admirably. In the end Radley couldn’t quite claw back Tonbridge’s third try, though we were close to their line as the whistle blew. WEe look forward to the return fixture. Honourable mentions go to Blake Williams, who marshalled the back line through injury; Harkirat Malhotra who was always early to the breakdown and Wilf Peers who was rock-solid under the high ball. Man of the Match, though, goes to Kyle Chan, whose tackle count was prodigious and who was never far from the centre of the action.
