A bright start from Radley saw the boys take an 8-0 lead in the first ten minutes of what turned into a roller coaster game. A penalty and a try came as just reward for an energetic start that also saw us held up over the line.
It also stung Bedford into action and they replied with three scores showing a potent blend of physicality and ambition. At 19-8 the game looked like it might run away from us but a clinical score dragged us back into contention. The sides traded scores after that but Bedford finished the half strongly and went in to half time 26-18 ahead.
Two second half scores put Bedford into a commanding position and injuries forced a number of positional changes. In that context, scoring last was a real achievement and the final score of 38-25 felt like a fair reflection of the game.
