This was a tough game against a very well drilled Abingdon side. Raldey went ahead early with an excellent try, sucking in defenders before getting the ball out wide, allowing Henry Butter to touch down. Theo Rittson-Thomas converted, giving the boys a boost. However, Abingon soon struck, with their very strong scrum giving the team momentum in the breakdown. Abingdon then took a three point penalty to nudge into the lead. Radley kept to the task, with Lex Irwin scoring a fine try, well deserved given the metres he made all game by running into space. Again Theo converted from the edge of the pitch. In the second half, injuries and substitutions took their toll, but Radley tackling remained srong throughout. Abingdon scored with five minutes left on the clock, after a very successful rolling maul from the lineout. Overall, Radley were not careful enough about protecting the ball in contact, but should be commended for their determined effort right to the final whistle. Atti Bagchi was tireless in the breakdown, but man of the match went to Lex Irwin, for his penetrating runs.
