When Cheltenham arrived with 9 Players, with one forgetting his boots and gumshield, we knew this was going to be a different afternoon. We decided to run a 3-Team 7's tournament with 2 Radley Teams and Cheltenham.
The boys played incredibly well and should be applauded for their adaptability and enthusiasm in changing circumstances. Special Mentions to - Tom Min, playing his old school, clearly with some scores to settle, didn't stop running and elected to keep playing while others sub'ed off. To Ivo Cooper Evans, who for all his conversational prowess, actually committed to crunching tackles and unexpected aggression. To Alex Goodwin who ran around the whole Cheltenham defence on a number of occasions. And to Francis Kamau, playing his first rugby match, put in multiple high quality tackles, and showed real pace and quickly learnt the game. Resulting in a well deserved try - that was unfortunately disallowed by the referee for reasons I'm still not sure. Well played Francis - Man of the Match performance.
