Midgets 1 had a tough game against Abingdon. After beating them twice before, at the county and then regional tournaments, Abingdon were very much up for this match and played a good game. They played a very unusual game using a half court press during the first half and on and off in the second half. It took us a long time to get to grips with this but the last 10 minutes of the first half went well and a great passing move resulted in a short corner. A well worked routine saw Hutchinson score. 1-0 at half time.

We got off to a terrible start to the 2nd half, conceding within 2 minutes and gave up several chances and short corners. Fortunately Abingdon did not score again and the game petered out to a draw.

Our energy levels looked low so I hope we are refreshed for next Saturday and the National tournament on the Monday.
