This was the long-awaited first home match for the Radley 1st team, and did not disappoint. Lining up against some quality players from St Mary's, the boys had to be at their best to ensure a win. And they were. The addition of Woody Walker to the midfield, alongside Captain Blacker and the effervescent Morgan Barnes, it was a formidable trio. It did not prevent Radley going down to an early goal, though; despite Finian Kennedy (making his debut in the goal) having got his eye in in the previous match. However, gradually boys found their opportunities, thanks to great distribution from Woody and Freddie in particular. Morgan got two, Ollie Stanley made a terrific run from defence to add a third, Captain Blacker scored a top corner crowd-pleaser, and Archie Ross came on from the side to score a fifth. The second half was a much closer affair, with St Mary's scoring three to Radley's three (these from Burdett, Walker and Barnes) only for Rory A-G to add flattery to the scoreline right at the end with a quick brace, the first of which was fed by a delightful assist from Walker. All in all, the team are hitting their stride at the right time to make a real impression in the final match of the season in a week's time. Thanks to St Mary's for coming all the way and for providing great opposition.
