Match Report
Radley College Boys-U15D vs  St Edward's School, Oxford Boys-U15C
On: Thursday, 16 Nov 2023
Venue: at Home

The team eked out a gritty win against a tough JC3 side from Teddies. The focus was to retain the ball in contact, and some progress was made here from the Abingdon game. Bagchi was relentless at the breakdown, as well as picking up from the back of the ruck, making good metres and scoring first for the side after Teddies had opened the match with a try. Throughout the match, Radley had plenty of ball, but occasionally individuals were isolated and Teddies were very effective in turning over possession. As the game wore on, Radley's superior determination won through, with tries from Xia, who was also held up twice over the line, and Santell. The last score came after the team had gone through the phases and then moved the ball out wide after tying down the defence. Hopefully this can become more of a feature of their play. Others contributed to the win, but Arthur Bland's superb tackle as the last line of defence on a man coming on a pace who had run through the team was a highlight.
