Radley competed against MCS, Bloxham and Abingdon School in the Oxfordshire County Cup today at Bloxham.
Radley started well against MCS and fashioned chances for Newbury and Wickens but the keeper repelled them expertly. 0-0 at HT. in the second half we broke numerous times and scored goals from Hargreave who slotted home well and then Bullen with a clever deflection. A 2-0 win in the end.
We played Bloxham in game 2 and started really slowly. In fact it was only in the second half where we looked dangerous. Oyewumi almost won the game with a clever deflection but a 0-0 score was a fair result.
We finished with a tough game against Abingdon. We soaked up some pressure and survived 2 short corners before scoring one of our own. Bremner’s touch just making it over the goal line. 1-0 at HT. We scored again from a short corner, Oyewumi this deflecting home and survived the last 5 minutes with a few hair-raising moments to run out 2-0 victors.
We expect the regional tournament to now happen in March. Thanks to the spectators who made it to Bloxham today to cheer us on.
