Match Report
Radley College Boys-U14A vs  Millfield School
On: Sunday, 04 Feb 2024
Venue: Away

A wonderful day of rugby 7's culminated in a closely contested final against Millfield, with Radley running out 24-7 winners. Charlie Johnstone stole the show in the final but all boys, working on a strict time rotation policy contributed enormously to what was a phenomenal squad effort. Kit Wade's tackle at sweeper another highlight of the game.

Group stage wins against Cheltenham, Clifton and Millfield B were also impressive with the squad not conceding a try in any of the three games.

The semi final against JAG's old school, Monmouth was titanic. Monmouth fizzed with class and took a deserved 17-7 lead into half time. If Monmouth had scored next the game was over; however, they didn't. Captain Carter Shaw did! Johnstone scored on the final whistle and the ever impressive King slotted the winning conversion despite having suffered horrific cramp at the start of the game.

Cowell was elegant in his running and 7's nous throughout the day. Bremner brave and organised. Bullen beligerent, Johnny Foster superb in his breakdown work, Bayly quietly superb as always, Brown a handful, especially in the semi final and final, Hoar a constant menace to the opposition and Sundavadra effective in the open spaces of the field.

It was a great day and one that will etch itself into the memory bank of the entire squad, supporting group of loyal parents and coaches for ever.....I hope! Well done, all.
