The team were keen to take control of this game after the draw last weekend. Eton requested uncontested scrums and with the narrower confines of Sugworth 2, that meant there was not the customary space on offer. That coupled with some enforced changes to the backline meant the boys needed to throw themselves wholeheartedly forward. They did not disappoint, tackling reliably and effectively and running some excellent support lines. Radley kept the ball in hand in the first half, or at least attempted to, with the greasy conditions proving challenging for both sides. Greater use of kicking in the second half opened up some improved field positions, which were exploited with precision. The final two tries, scored in the final five minutes, saw everything come together and the boys start Leave Away with their heads held high. MVP closely contested - mentions to one Matteo on the wing for some excellent catching and running (sometimes at the same time), Archie for leaving us in doubt as to whether he plays 7 or 10 and Freddie at 9 for being everywhere - but it goes to the other Matteo for his ceaseless energy.
