On the 25th of January 2024 Radley college Colts 1 took on the night Rugby college which we thought was a daunting task until we arrived. Today we were against a traitor of ours and we were not going to let it be easy. The atmosphere was electric a match of the ages was about to commence, the first half we kicked off raring to go and bring home the win. The boys started off strong having many chances for Will Brooks, Jack Renders and Will Dunlop causing havoc at the rugby defence causing pressure upon them. Whilst Barney Bentley was putting in the saves to keep it level. Towards the end of the half, we had a short corner and had a chance to take the lead, unluckily we let the chance go astray, the half ended 0-0 After a team talk with Mr Jolly, we knew we should be leading and not letting them beat the mighty Radley. So, George Butterworth thought it upon himself to slap it across goal, which miraculously went in just after 2 minutes in the half. After that goal we thought, the goals would flood infuriating the rugby lot giving us chat. But we stayed resilient with some very technical skill from the midfielders and strong at the back through the centre back duo of Archie Read and George Beard. We then changed tactics and parked the bus, Rugby could get near the ball until late on in the game our traitor was through on goal and looked to be sure of a goal, suddenly Freddie Hall dives in, to stop the attack and putting him on his back. Th game was over Radley retain their unbeaten streak this season by winning 1-0 and man of the match for his tremendous performance was Freddie Hall.
