After a tough (and close) test match against Abingdon last week, the 4th XV had much to prove. Revelling in facing a new and unknown opposition, the team rose to the occasion. A fresher variety in offensive play saw Radley up 14-7 at half time.

With a passion and hunger not often seen this season, the Radley boys came out of the blocks hard into the second half. Some penetrating kicks from Will Womersley were well chased and competed for, which quickly saw the scoreboard tick over to 24-7.

Determined and not happy with this, the Oakham 4ths continued to fight back, and some questionable defence from Radley saw the score begin to rebalance, at 24-14.

Some excellent passages of play in both directions saw further changes in the score; a penalty kick slotted by Radley followed by another converted try from Oakham towards the death.

Adamant that they would not give the lead away in the dying minutes of the match, Radley maintained possession of the ball until the clock went red. The big question is will this momentum continue to the Bedford fixture in little under a week's time?
