We started the game with uncontested scrums - very frustrating given the dominance of our pack throughout the season. However, with a bit of sensible rugby, we hoped this wouldn’t change things. Fernie scored our first try with a tackle-breaking run and this opened the floodgates.
A couple of bulldozing tries from Amay and Walter put us in a comfortable position. Rafe’s goal kicking was good but our work on the floor was exceptional - almost every time Oakham had it, we turned them over. Guest and Zegele got well deserved tries though I’ve certainly deserved a try having gone over the line 3 times, all 3 times denied by the ref.
