It was perfect conditions for a great game of rugby. It was a shame that Eton asked for uncontested scrums from the start. The first half was a tense affair for both sides. Eton were strong in the ruck, committing more players and hitting lower through the ball. Radley defended reasonably well but were, quite rightly, penalised for a number of infringements. Jovan S opened up the scoring, with some charging runs by the pack and from a good off-load from Ollie B. From there George B finished well, following some good phrases, scoring fairly wide on the right wing. So at 12 - 0, and 20 minutes in, it was looking fairly comfortable

To Eton’s credit, they came back strongly. We continued to infringe, sadly not learning any lessons, and some good play by Eton and a bit of sloppy defending from Radley meant that the score was 12 - 14 at half-time.

Radley was more dominant in the second half. Lade O made the most of the space given to him, breaking a number of tackles. A couple of kicks over the top of the advancing defence led to a couple of really well executed tries. George B scored his second try and Charlie P also crossed as the backs really got into their stride. Again, to Eton’s credit they never gave up and also crossed for a good try in the second half. Radley continued to apply the pressure and Marcos F-W finished the scoring with a strong and dominant carry. At the final whistle, Eton were only a few metres from scoring and they finished the game well.
