We had won pushback, and the team had started off with lovely passing plays around the back and many attacking threats. We used the skill of passing into space to attack and high press with tight man-marking to defend. The ball got to Ade, who dribbled it down the right channel, eliminating their left back to get it into the ‘D’ and win the short corner.

We then decided to do a slip-slap deflection, as we had well-rehearsed. With a lovely injection from Xander, a great pass from Ben, and a quick first-time slap from Jasper, Ade was able to deflect it right into the bottom corner far from the keeper’s reach making it 1-0.

We continued to play and threaten down the right when Jasper delivered another beautiful pass, allowing Oscar to get a shot at goal—2-0. Playing well defensively and with the wonderful saves from our keeper, Will Johnson, we were able to keep the score at 2-0 going into the second half.

The second half felt quicker than the first due to the quality of our attacking once again. Using our back four to lure in players, we opened spaces in the middle and created chances for the forwards. Eventually, we saw this come into action when Tom played a pass to Will Sweeting, who fired it from the top of the ‘D’—3-0.

For the last bit of the game, we were slightly on the defensive, but we held up against their attack. Our high press prevented them from leaving their own half, forcing them to make an error, which allowed Oscar to swoop in for the tackle, win the ball, and get a shot at goal—4-0, Radley win.
